AmeriCorps Week Comes to a Close
The 2018 AmeriCorps Week gave us an opportunity to highlight all of our amazing VISTAs that help keep Milwaukee Succeeds up and running! This year's theme was #GetThingsDone, and we were able to share small snippets of what each VISTA does, while incorporating some fun, yet meaningful questions in each article. Our VISTAs help us with so many different aspects of the work we do, from data analysis to community engagement. All of our current VISTAs have taken initiative on many projects Milwaukee Succeeds is working on this year, and have been proactive and present with events in our community.
Our Data Management & Research Support Coordinator LaQuan McMahan put together a thorough packet to data for the Opportunity Youth meeting this week, and continues to provide the necessary support to our Data team! Read more about the work he does here!
Our Opportunity Youth Coordinator Dan Bomberg took, and continues to take the lead all things Opportunity Youth. This week, he facilitated the monthly Opportunity Youth Network Meeting, and decided to take a new approach on these meetings going forward. Read more about the work he does here!
Our Social & Emotional Learning Coordinator Dom Portis attended the Creativity Connects Milwaukee event this week! This day included interactive panel discussions and workshops that focused on how art can strengthen social and emotion development for kids! Read more about the work he does here!
Our Community Engagement Coordinator Laura Johnson continues to provide support for the Communications team here at Milwaukee Succeeds. She joined Dom at the Creativity Connects event earlier in the week and planned an event at GMF where artist Tia Richardson spoke. Read more about the work she does here!
We are so grateful for the work our VISTAs do each day. Interested in joining the AmeriCorps team? Learn more about the opportunities that await!
See you next year AmeriCorps Week!
