Department of Workforce Development Announces Grant Program

Improving accessibility to family supporting careers is just one of the many goals the Milwaukee Succeeds partnership works towards. Just announced by the Department of Workforce Development (DWD), the Office of Skills Development (OSD) has released a new Advanced Manufacturing Technical Education Equipment Grant Program Announcement (GPA), which is making Wisconsin school districts eligible to receive $5,000 to $50,000 in grants toward training students for careers in advanced manufacturing. This has been made possible by the recently expanded Wisconsin Fast Forward (WFF) program.

The grant would reimburse school districts for their purchases related to technical education, including equipment, software and instructional materials. This would help schools advance their manufacturing and technical programs and give students the opportunity to learn a skill that can help them obtain a family supporting job. Deadline to apply is March 15, 2018. Learn more about this opportunity at the WFF website.
