Catina Harwell-Young Promoted to Deputy Director

Catina Harwell-Young, formerly the director of community and engagement with Milwaukee Succeeds, has recently been promoted to the position of deputy director. This promotion recognizes Catina’s exceptional dedication, leadership and contributions to our organization. Milwaukee Succeeds’ previous deputy director, Dave Celata, will be transitioning to a policy-focused role, with the hope of creating a community-informed policy agenda for the coming years.

Throughout Catina’s various roles within Milwaukee Succeeds, she has consistently demonstrated outstanding performance and a deep understanding of our mission and values. Catina’s commitment to uplifting lived experience partners, her excellent strategic thinking and her remarkable ability to foster relationships have been instrumental in driving the organization’s success.

As deputy director, Catina will play a crucial role in prioritizing, driving and implementing Milwaukee Succeeds’ strategies. Catina’s work will include collaborating with key stakeholders internally and externally to drive our mission, vision and goals of improving educational outcomes for Milwaukee’s children in every school, cradle to career.
