Milwaukee Business Journal Features Q&A with Danae Davis

In the wake of Danae Davis’s retirement announcement last month, the Milwaukee Business Journal explored her tenure as executive director of Milwaukee Succeeds - and what’s next for the organization - in a short Q&A. The article explores what prompted her to retire, the elements of the work she’s most proud of, next steps for Milwaukee Succeeds and more.

During the interview, Danae also shared her advice for the executive director: “This is hard work, and there is no one way. You’ve got to be able to pivot as needed. A lot of times we’re looking for the blueprint. In this collective impact work, there is no blueprint. The only blueprint is engagement of community, use of data and information rewarded by condition in celebrating others and not taking credit."

Milwaukee Succeeds’ parent organization, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, is in the process of developing a transition plan for Danae’s retirement, including appointing a special committee to conduct a local search for her successor.
