Milwaukee Succeeds to Host Letter Writing Sessions in Support of ECE

As Wisconsin embarks on its 2025-27 budget cycle, early childhood education (ECE) advocates across the city – and the state – are preparing to make their voices heard. In order to bolster these efforts, Milwaukee Succeeds is hosting a series of in-person letter writing sessions at ThriveOn King, providing educators, providers and community members with the opportunity to engage in hands-on advocacy.

These sessions will build on the organization’s ECE Advocacy Trainings, a six-part series that equipped participants with the knowledge and skills needed to push for policy changes. During these letter-writing events, attendees will not only learn to draft impactful letters, but will also prepare speeches for the Joint Finance Committee and refine their advocacy strategies to effectively communicate with policymakers.

Wisconsin’s child care system faces ongoing challenges, and the current budget cycle represents an opportunity to call for increased investment in the sector. By participating in these sessions, educators and community members can contribute to a collective effort to influence policy decisions that impact early learning opportunities across the state.

The sessions will take place on the first floor of ThriveOn King on March 8, 15 and 29, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Participants will receive support in crafting their messages and will have the opportunity to rehearse their speeches in preparation for legislative hearings. Early educators and providers who complete their letters will also earn free continuing education hours through the Wisconsin Registry.

Registration is open through March 5. For more information and to sign up, visit this link.
