ECE Ambassadors Stop by Penfield’s Health & Safety Day

Our dedicated Early Childhood Education Ambassadors made their latest stop at Penfield Children's Center for their annual Health & Safety Day on July 11. The event was well-attended by ECE providers, employees and families, making it an excellent opportunity to connect with those most impacted by the ongoing struggles facing the sector.

"Many ECE employees caught wind of our organization as we continued talking about the vital need for continued ECE supports at every level," said Anna Smerchek, community engagement fellow. "Soon enough, our table was filled with folks eager to join in the fight for ECE!"

The ambassadors shared the important work Milwaukee Succeeds and the MKE ECE Coalition are doing to support access to affordable, high-quality care in Milwaukee, as well as identifying leaders in the ECE space to serve as champions for the cause.

The event also featured literacy supports, health and wellness checks, fire safety, the Milwaukee Police Department, Head Start and Children's Hospital. Attendees enjoyed engagement activities, including a fantastic performance by the Milwaukee Bucks' Rim Rockers and Bango the Buck. Penfield's ECE classrooms joined in the fun, as well, with both the educators and kids enjoying the festivities.

Throughout the rest of the summer, our ECE Ambassadors will continue targeting partner spaces to increase awareness about ECE and Milwaukee Succeeds and identify leaders willing to help share the word.
