Building Collective Power for Milwaukee’s Education System
On Saturday, November 9, Milwaukee Succeeds' K12 Civic Action Team (K12 CAT) hosted the EmpowerED Convening at ThriveOn King. Grounded in the vision of A Manifesto for Black Education, the event challenged participants to reimagine Milwaukee's education system with a focus on self-determination and equity for Black children.

Our 29 council members, predominantly aged 17 and younger, engaged in an intensive program designed to build their skills in leadership, advocacy, and systems thinking.
Clintel Hasan to Depart Milwaukee Succeeds
After four years of spearheading Milwaukee Succeeds’ high school success work, Strategic Initiatives Manager Clintel Hasan is departing the organization, having decided to focus her time on education consulting. Her final day will be January 19.
Milwaukee Succeeds Receives $175,000 Grant to Expand Opportunities for Youth
Milwaukee Succeeds’ Youth Forward MKE Coalition has been chosen by The Wallace Foundation to participate in a one-time, one-year funding opportunity, called Advancing Opportunities for Adolescents. The coalition will use their $175,000 grant to launch the Milwaukee Freedom Academy, part of Design Your Future Proposal 3.
